Hey everyone. I recently got a 2024 Chevy Traverse RS. When I use Super Cruise, I’ve noticed that the steering wheel wobbles a little from side to side, especially when I’m going over 30 mph. The car itself doesn’t shake, and Super Cruise seems to work fine. I’m just wondering if this is normal. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Seems pretty normal to me. I’ve noticed in my GMC Sierra that Super Cruise tends to wobble more on two-lane roads compared to highways. Maybe it’s just more noticeable off highways?

For me, the road conditions don’t seem to matter, but I do notice it more as I go faster. Below 30 mph, the wobbling barely happens.

I tested it again this morning, and yeah, I see a similar movement at highway speeds (65-75 mph). It’s not so much a vibration but more like the wheel adjusting a lot to keep the car centered in the lane.
Basically, Super Cruise uses a feedback control system to adjust the steering. These systems tend to oscillate around a target point, just like how a thermostat in your house turns the heat on and off to keep the temperature stable. It’s the same principle in the car—constantly adjusting the wheel to stay centered in the lane.

Exactly. We all do the same thing when driving. No road is perfectly straight, and no car drives in a perfectly straight line without adjustments.

Thanks for explaining! I use Tesla’s FSD often and never had this kind of wobble before, no matter the road conditions. That’s why I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with my Traverse’s sensors or something similar.
