Whats up everyone, first post here looking for insight from those who’ve done it before me hopefully. I’ve got a 1987 Z28 with the 5.7 305 and 5-speed manual. I’ve ALSO got a 1991 Corvette with the 5.7 350 and 4 speed auto. I plan on putting the 350 in the Z28, but keeping the 5 speed manual. Anybody have any idea how it’s gonna go? My thinking is it should be plug and play for the most part, both being late model SBCs.
Should drop in. Might have to change the ECU.
Lots of things to change. 305 is a 5.0, not a 5.7 btw. Needs a pilot bushing in back of crankshaft on the 350. The clutch will bolt up but might need to be upgraded based on increased power. Fuel delivery will be off, computer thinks it’s still feeding a 305, not a 350. Most everything else should bolt up no problem physically.
@Kai
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll look into the ECU and fuel delivery issues.

No problem! Just make sure to check everything before you start. It’ll save you headaches later.
Make sure to check the wiring harness too. You might need to adapt some connections.

Good point! I’ll definitely keep that in mind.
Also, don’t forget about the exhaust. The 350 may require different headers or modifications.

Thanks for the reminder! I’ll check the exhaust setup too.
