I’ve got a 1998 S10 with a 4.3L engine that I’d like to fix up someday to make it reliable again. It hesitates to start sometimes and has a check engine light on. The code reader says there’s a vacuum leak, but I can’t find it. There’s not much else wrong with it, so I’m wondering if it’s worth the effort to restore. What do you all think?
I’d say yes! A vacuum leak isn’t too hard to fix, and these trucks have a lot of potential. Plus, you could sell it later if you want.
Totally worth it! The S10 is a classic, and fixing it up could be a fun project. Just take it one step at a time.

Exactly! You might end up loving it even more once you put some work into it!
If it runs well aside from the starting issue, it’s definitely worth fixing. Plus, parts are usually cheap for these.
Yeah, I’d dig into that vacuum leak first. Once you get that sorted, you’ll have a better idea of what else needs fixing.
These trucks have a pretty loyal following. Fix it up, and you might find yourself with a nice little ride!
