2016 Chevrolet Cruze 1.4L possible turbo issue?

I have had a lot of issues with my car recently. I had a bad cold snap, and my car went into limp mode, leaving me limping along the highway at 40 kph. Nowhere had availabilities because everyone’s cars were experiencing issues, and people were cramming their tires on. So, the best option we had was to visit a lube shop for a transmission fluid check. They told us the levels were good, but that it sounded like a turbo issue, possibly a frozen open turbo. We took it underground for 3 hours, walked the mall and then saw a movie. It seemed to be fixed, all good. Then end of January, it happened again. When I took it for a diagnostic at the start of February, they told me that there were several codes (around 18, and that there seemed to be several issues) and I took it to the dealership to get it dealt with through one shop they use, in hopes it’d be a proper fix, and they told me it was a misplaced air filter that was ajar and causing a bunch of computer malfunctions and sending codes. It seemed to be working, so we were fine. Recently there have been a lot of the same issues, slow acceleration seems to be transmission issues too as there is jolting when shifting between gears, and the car can barely make it up to 110 km during good weather :woman_facepalming: I live in Canadian prairies and winter is coming, I can’t have this happening. Does this seem like a transmission issue, or does it seem more turbo?

Is the fourth letter of the VIN number P or B?

If it’s “P” and the older body type cruze, it seems like you have the old-style intake manifold, which causes water to collect in the turbocharger’s charge air bypass valve. When temperatures drop below freezing, water freezes.

Look up GM Bulletin Number 22-NA-067.

It requires you to replace the intake and bypass valves. I’ve done this quite a bit on the 1.4. Also, you could have a faulty turbo, but because this only occurs in cold weather, it does not appear to be the case.

It’s B!

It has also been receiving a code indicating that it is cutting off oil to the engine; today it sounded unusual, and my father believes it is an oil pump issue. He was also on the phone. I don’t have the money to buy upfront, and I’m currently struggling with warranties and availability.
