2016 Impala LT V6. 182k miles. While driving, it sometimes does a slight “jerk” while accelerating. I notice if I give it more gas, it seems fine.
Bought at 99k miles. @ 150,802k miles had EVAP Purge Control Solenoid replaced (would hesitate to start after fueling) and had BQ Transmission Service Kit & BG ATF fluid done (according to invoice, I’m guessing this is a flush?) and noticed the Trans jerk was gone.
I have an appointment next Monday at the shop to have this looked at. Last week had work done, and the mechanic said Trans isn’t throwing any codes, so I’m thinking another flush or whatever they did the first time is the answer.
Anyone agree or think differently? Anyone else have the same issue? Other than that, car performs phenomenal and I’m always on top of maintenance. I’m a woman and like to learn about the various mechanics when it comes to my vehicles.
It is always a good idea to maintain the transmission (fluid changes), but is this a transmission issue or a misfire? I prefer to service my transmission every 40-50k miles and my plugs every 100k miles. A random misfire will normally not set a code unless it occurs frequently. Were your plugs ever changed?
I am not sure if it is misfiring, I don’t think so. I haven’t had any check engine lights on - I think the only time it’s been on was when I needed to replace that EVAP Purge Solenoid. I’ve yet to have a misfire, so I don’t know what that feels like to be able to diagnose that. I assumed it’s Trans related because it was doing the same thing before my mechanic performed that flush - that was done on 10/22/22. I will have to look at my records more closely, but I do not I believe any plugs have been changed. I’ll mention it to him; good idea.
I do not have any service documents from the previous owner. I would say the “jerk” is more common (daily) than once in a while. I have no problem driving in reverse, drive, or neutral. I have a manual/automatic tram, but I’ve only ever used it on automatic.
