I have a 2018 Chevy Impala, and I keep getting a message on the dash that says, ‘Theft deterrent, please open then close driver window.’ When I try to start it, I just hear a clicking or stalling sound, and the car won’t start. I had the battery and alternator tested, and both came back fine. The message is gone now, but the car will still not start up unless I give it a jump. Once I jump it, it starts right up. Any suggestions on what might be causing this issue?
It sounds like you may have a bad battery, even if it tested okay. You might want to get a second opinion or check if the connections are loose or corroded.
I replaced the battery last year, and it just tested fine recently. The issue seems to persist, though.
