Airbag light still on after replacing knee airbag... any ideas?

Hey folks! I’m running into a bit of an issue with my 2014 Malibu. I replaced the passenger knee airbag since the cover was damaged. I unplugged the battery for a few minutes before starting, and everything seemed fine. But now the airbag light is still on, saying ‘passenger knee airbag deployment loop high resistance.’ No airbags have deployed or anything, so I’m a bit confused. I might just have to take it in, but I’m curious if anyone has any thoughts on what might be going on. Any help would be awesome!

You might not have something connected properly. Double-check those connections!

Airbag connectors are really sensitive. If they’re not fully connected or the lock isn’t seated, the light will stay on.

Sounds frustrating! Sometimes resetting the system can help, too. Have you tried disconnecting the battery again?

Could it be a fault in the new airbag? I’ve heard of that happening before.

If all else fails, definitely take it to a dealer. They can run diagnostics and see what’s up.
