In the six months since I purchased the Trax in April, my air conditioner has stopped producing cold air entirely. Since I think the AC is deemed important, like other components in the vehicle, I’m seriously considering legislating protection under the lemon legislation. There are instances when traveling slowly and the temperature is over 85 degrees means that opening the windows won’t be enough. Due to the extreme cold in the Midwest, where I live, I’m afraid that the heat will have the same deadly effect this winter.
Yes with my 2025. Had been in the shop for weeks with on back order. Thankfully we have a loaner…
Which AC component needed to be replaced? There are several possible components.
@Emma_Greens Waiting on the Evap core. You can search some in this sub and see it’s a known Problem
Hey, me too. It’s been a month almost to the day and I got the call this afternoon that parts finally arrived.
Ac in my 24 went out during the hottest week of the summer we had back in June. The dealership couldn’t look at it for over a week, refilled the refrigerant and put in a dye but found no leaks. Been working fine since then. But now I’ve got a purge pump failed and waiting on the part to replace it.
No works fine only the computer has a stroke now and then
@Charlotte The main computer that controls everything or the entertainment system that only controls music and voice?
Well, holy crap, was there a mistake in the entertainment system? Everything else functions. Exactly
Yes. Been without AC since mid-July. First, the dealer said it was a pressure switch. Waited 2 weeks for that part to come in, and AC still didn’t work. They said it was the condenser that leaked. Waited a month for that part to come in and they fixed it. AC worked for one day and went out again. I’m having another dealer take a look at it next week.
I’m annoyed that the first dealer didn’t pressure test the system. That at least would have saved a couple of weeks in their process.
Lemon law varies by state. I contacted an attorney, and they advised me to wait for the next repair attempt to build the case.
I would be happy if they took it back and swapped a new one for it. But now I’m worried this is a systemic problem, not just a fluke.
Mine had a heat issue, but it was not serious. There is a massive piece of something attached to the HVAC chamber. Mine was distorted around the seal, causing it to produce a high-pitched screeching noise if the temperature above 82 degrees.
My air conditioner’s evaporator went apart. It’s been languishing at a shop for a month, and now I received word that parts are finally available. Only a week till the repairs are completed.
Hopefully
The service manager informed me that they have seen this several times on the new Trax (I purchased a '25). I’ve driven the dealership loaner more miles than I have the Trax I bought, so I’m a little irritated.
Evap core is exploding left and right on them.
Mine is doing the same thing, but it is an Evap core. The part is on backorder forever. I’ve waited a month with no estimated time. No ac
After only a month of driving, my 2025 Trax’s air conditioning failed. You’d assume they were aware of the problem with past models.
Not in my LS. I am California so it’s on almost everything I drive since I got it in April.
