Corvette Grand Sport vs CT4-V Black Wing... which should I choose?

Hey everyone, I currently have a 2020 Audi SQ5 that I use as my second or weekend vehicle. I’m about ready to upgrade it to stage 2, but I’ve noticed that prices for used cars are starting to drop. So now I’ve got several lightly used options available in my budget. I’ve mostly been a traditional GM V8 guy, growing up with cars like the 2000s Trans Am, GTO, and TBSS, plus a SRT8. The Audi is actually my first forced-induction vehicle. Even though it’s technically the slowest car I’ve had, I absolutely LOVE the driving experience of the Audi. If I’m going to upgrade, I think I’ve narrowed it down to either the Corvette Grand Sport Performance or the Cadillac CT4-V Black Wing. I’m pretty familiar with GM, so I’m mainly looking for thoughts on the Vette vs. the CT4-V. However, I’m also open to any other opinions about the Audi or other options around the same price point. This vehicle will mainly be for light track use and spirited weekend driving, and I live in Chicago.

Honestly, I’d say go for the CT4-V. It really offers a lot of performance for the price, plus it feels more refined than the Vette in daily driving.

I totally agree, the CT4-V is a great choice. Plus, it’s a bit more practical for everyday use too.

For track days, I’d lean towards the Corvette. It’s a beast on the track and really delivers that classic sports car experience.

Yeah, but what about the comfort level? I’ve heard the Vette can be a bit harsh for daily driving.

@Lake
That’s true, but if you’re mainly using it on weekends or for track days, I think the performance will outweigh the comfort issues.

You should definitely consider a C8 before making a final decision. They perform better than both the Grand Sport and the CT4-V, plus prices have dropped a lot recently.

What’s a C8? I’m not familiar with that model.

@Whit
The C8 is the new mid-engine Corvette. It’s a fantastic car and really popular for track use.

The Audi is a solid choice too. If you love the driving experience, upgrading it might be worth considering. Just think about how much track time you plan to get.

Yeah, I really enjoy the Audi. I’m just looking for something that can handle some light track use without losing that fun feel.

If you’re into GM, you can’t go wrong with either the Vette or the CT4-V. Just make sure to test drive both to see which one feels right for you.

Good point. Test driving can really make a difference. Sometimes specs look great on paper but feel different in reality.
