Dealer won't install my spoiler... how long is too long?

I bought a 2024 Malibu back in September, and it was supposed to come with a spoiler. The dealer said they would install it as soon as it arrived, but now it’s November and I still don’t have it. Every time I call, they say they don’t have one yet. What would you guys do in this situation?

If it’s in the contract that they’ll install it at no charge, then you’re good. It might just be back-ordered. If it’s not in the contract, though, I wouldn’t count on it.

Ooh boy. I’ll have to check that. I know it’s on the specs list for the car when I bought it.

If it was listed on the window sticker, they could be obligated to take the car back. If not, read your contract to see what you’re entitled to. A good next step is to find out who the GENERAL manager is, call them, and explain the situation. Don’t settle for just the sales or service manager. Ask them what a reasonable time frame is and kindly disagree if it feels off.

Totally get how frustrating this is! I’d say give them a limit of about 90 days, and ask if they can provide a loaner while you wait. Also, make sure to check if it’s a factory or aftermarket part, and get the warranty in writing before they install it.

Yeah, it really kills the excitement of the purchase when stuff like this happens. Hope it gets sorted out soon!
