My budget for a used automobile was between $5,000 and $6,000, and I purchased whatever I could find for that price in today’s market.
Everything else works OK, and it appears that someone has taken proper care of the car.
Given the problems that Chevrolet has with their vehicles, how long should I anticipate having this car without severe problems until it’s no longer worth keeping? Should I sell it right away before things start to break, or should I wait until prices return to normal? I believe I made a mistake with
I remember thinking about buying one with 80k miles on it until the guy said it had a new clutch and transmission. Turns out, manual transmission vehicles have some really bad driveline components that GM won’t replace even if they broke during the warranty period. So suffice to say, I ended up purchasing a Nissan Versa instead.
That happened to my 20 Silverado with the 8L90 (8-speed transmission). Due to the horrible shutter, I called my truck the Chevy Shakerado. We fought for 7 months to get it rectified. GM issued bulletin after bulletin stating that it is usual. They created a subpar transmission. I was not too fond of it so badly that I got rid of it.
