I am a bit lost and could use some advice. I am looking for a used car under $13k with fewer than 80k miles. After months of searching and asking around, I found a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze with 73k miles for $11k. When I mentioned it to a friend, they reacted with, “A CHEVY??” . What’s the deal with that? Is this a good deal? I’m not knowledgeable about cars at all.
With a $13k budget, what other options should I consider? Are there specific things I should watch out for when buying a used car?
After ten years of ownership, I recently sold my Cruze to get a Trailblazer. I went through two expensive turbos in 110k miles, but I also dragged ass up and down the Colorado mountains, so I wasn’t very gentle to the turbo, hehe.
There will be differences of opinion amongst people. I miss my Cruze, and I sold it simply to get a bigger vehicle because I have to carry saddles around for my work with horses. Just remember that problems will arise with all cars, including Honda and Toyota. Another commenter brought up Mazda, but all I had to deal with with my 2010 CX7 was issues.
