Just got back from a road trip from LA to Mammoth Lakes, and having access to Tesla Superchargers made the whole trip so much smoother! I’ve got a Bolt, and while the charging infrastructure for non-Tesla EVs is decent in some areas, I found that using Tesla’s network saved me a lot of time and hassle. Stopped a few times to charge, and it added about 45 minutes to an hour each way, but overall it was a breeze. Anyone else here using Tesla chargers with their non-Tesla EV?

Just wish the adapter wasn’t $200
I know! I got the A2Z adapter for $167.45 with no tax, so it was a much better deal than the GM one. Right now it looks like it’s 177.30 after using code ‘STATEOFCHARGE.’
How long did it take to get charged?

I stopped 3 times on the way up for a total of about an hour. I stopped twice on the way down for a total of about 45 min.
I bet all the Tesla drivers are loathing the fact that they see Bolt drivers with a slower charging car using their chargers lol. This is great by the way haha.

It’s really not that bad because Tesla Superchargers share power between chargers much more efficiently than the other networks’ chargers. As long as the Bolts aren’t all taking up 2 spots and are spread between power cabinets, it’s usually fine. Tesla V3 chargers spread 350kW through 4 individual stations, generally.

Yea, I didn’t mean the power sharing thing, although it’s great that all the available power is used. I meant that some Tesla drivers can be territorial about their beloved chargers. It’s like when a peasant walks into a country club .
LA to Mammoth is such a tough charging corridor. The rest of California is covered in chargers, but without access to Tesla chargers, that route is rough. Glad you had a good experience!
