I’m trying to help a friend find the oil filler neck for their 1990 Chevy S10 with a 4.3L engine. They’re struggling a bit, and I’m not too car-savvy myself. The screw is a little longer than the bolt if that helps. Any tips on where to look?

Thank you! Sorry my post is lacking info, I’m helping a less internet-savvy friend. I’m out of my element with cars. I have a CAD background and this part looked so simple, I honestly didn’t believe him when he said he can’t find it on Facebook. Long-winded, I apologize; I just appreciate the lead.

You will probably need to look for a junkyard that has that vehicle and call them to ask if they will pull that part. It’s also called an oil filler tube. Hopefully, that part fits a wide range of years.

Funny, I’m on the phone with him right now and literally he just said this when I got the notification. This actually might prove useful; we’re both in other parts of the country, so hopefully that’s double the chances of finding it. It’s just a really dumb design. I finally understand why mechanics always harp on engineers; my mind is blown.
