To reset the Change Transmission Fluid message on your 2014 Chevy Captiva, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  2. Press the MENU button on the turn signal lever to display the Vehicle Information Menu on the instrument panel.
  3. Use the thumbwheel on the turn signal lever to scroll through the menu items until you reach the Transmission Fluid or Remaining Oil Life screen.
  4. Once you’re on the relevant screen, press and hold the SET/CLR button on the end of the turn signal lever.
  5. The display will show a confirmation message asking if you want to reset the transmission fluid life. Use the thumbwheel to highlight Yes, then press the SET/CLR button to select it.
  6. The transmission fluid life will reset to 100%.
  7. Turn off the ignition.

Remember to consult your owner’s manual for any specific instructions related to the OBD2 port or resetting warning lights.

You can look for a scan tool or take it to someone who has the tool capable of looking into modules and doing resets and not just clearing codes.

Try turning on the ignition so that all of the lights and other accessories turn on, then pump the accelerator three times, turn the ignition off again, and turn it back on. The problem should then be resolved.

Also, your oil life percentage will be reset.
