How do I fix trouble code P0017

Hi, I drive a 1.8-liter 2017 Chevy Sonic. I am unable to remove the p0017 code from it. I have timing alignment tools, and I have replaced the timing belt and tensioner in it. I upgraded both cameras’ cam phasers. I replaced all three position sensors and installed new VVT solenoids on both cameras. Sometimes the code returns in two days, and other times it returns as soon as I start the car.

Did you manage to solve the problem? If so, how tough was the solution, and how much did it cost? I’m experiencing the same issue right now.

When I tackled a persistent P0017 code on my car, I faced similar frustrations despite replacing major components like the timing belt, cam phasers, and VVT solenoids. I found that the issue might not solely be mechanical; it could also involve the timing chain or other components that affect timing alignment. After replacing those parts, I also checked for any issues with oil flow or variable valve timing (VVT) system calibration. Consulting with a professional or using a diagnostic scan tool to look deeper into potential issues with the timing chain or engine control unit (ECU) often helped resolve persistent codes.
