I just got a 2016 Traverse 2LT today, and I’m trying to update the infotainment system to use CarPlay. I noticed the navigation maps are from 2012 and myLink seems outdated too. The previous owner probably didn’t use the infotainment much, so I’m not sure where to start. If anyone’s dealt with this or has tips, I’d love to hear them. Thanks!
I totally feel you on this, I had the same issue with my Traverse. Have you checked if there’s a software update available? Sometimes it’s just a matter of downloading a new version.
Have you looked into getting a dealer to do it? Sometimes they can update everything for you if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself.
I had a similar problem. The maps were ancient, and I just ended up using my phone instead. CarPlay is a game changer if you can get it working.
I think you might need a specific cable for CarPlay. Make sure you check that too.
