I’ve been eyeing a used 2022 or 2023 Bolt EV after renting a 1LT last spring. For those who’ve driven both, is the 2LT really that much better? Mainly interested in the heated seats, blind spot warning, and lane departure features. Hertz has good deals on low-mileage 1LTs, and I drive about 7,500 miles a year, mostly in the city. Just wondering if the extra cost for the 2LT is worth it.
You don’t know you need heated seats and steering wheel until you have them, then you can’t go back. I learned that when I bought my Bolt EUV. I got one with all the options, and now I always volunteer to drive. Having the extras makes a huge difference.
@Marley
Are you me? Same story here - only got the Premier because it was the only one available in late 2022 when my Volt got totaled.
The 2LT’s surround vision camera is a lifesaver for parallel parking. Blind spot monitors are nice too, but I wish they’d beep when you put on the turn signal. Leather seats are also easier to clean and more durable than cloth, in my opinion.
@Hollis
Same here! I love the surround cameras on both my Bolt and Equinox. They’re so handy in the city.
@Hollis
Agreed! I live in South Carolina, so it rarely gets cold, but those heated seats are still great on chilly mornings and evenings.
I grabbed a 1LT from Hertz and am really happy with it. Sure, the 2LT would’ve been nice, but for $16K, I can’t complain about what I got compared to my old 2011 RAV4.
I have a 1LT with heated seats, wheel, and lane departure features. The extra cost was over $1K, but no regrets. You can also get heated seat covers online if you go for the 1LT and want some warmth.

Totally! I went with the 1LT too. The options package was only a bit more and made a huge difference. I also prefer cloth seats over leather.
@Tobin
Yeah, same here. I have adaptive cruise on my Prius and it’s nice, but the Bolt’s heated steering wheel is something I really appreciate in the winter.

My second car is a Subaru Outback with adaptive cruise, but now I value the heated wheel on the Bolt more. It’s perfect for the back roads I drive on.
We have the 2LT and really like the leather seats, heated features, 360 camera, and adaptive cruise. Worth the extra cost in our book.
I drive a 1LT, my wife has a Premier, and a friend has the 2LT. You can live with the 1LT, but the higher trims are worth it if you want the extra features. The adaptive cruise and 360 camera are pretty awesome, especially for city driving.
@Asher
FYI, adaptive cruise is only on the 2023 Bolt EUV model.

Not for the EV, only the EUV.

I have a 2023 EV 2LT with adaptive cruise, though.

That’s right, but the 1LT doesn’t have it. The 2LT has it, but only in 2023.
Most of the Hertz 1LT Bolts have the Driver Confidence package, which includes lane change alert, blind zone alert, and rear park assist.
In the cold, heated seats and a heated steering wheel help save battery since you can keep the cabin heat low.
We picked up a 1LT from Hertz. Mild weather here, so we didn’t need heated seats, but it does have blind spot monitors. If it was for me, I’d go for the 2LT for the extras.
