Installing a front and rear dashcam on a 2022 Equinox—does anyone have experience with this?

I found a ChrisFix video on wiring, but I’d like to see if anyone has photos of a similar installation on the 2022 Equinox. I’m a bit anxious about damaging the plastic panels.

There are tools for this job available here: https://a.co/d/2ecfBcf

I haven’t installed one on an Equinox, but based on my experience with installing similar parts on three different cars, these tools should handle the job with ease. Just be patient—it’s more about precision than brute force.

I suggest using Harbor Freight trim tools for your installation.

I purchased the HD dashcam available on GM’s website, and the dealer installed it for me. The labor cost was $100, and the dashcam itself was around $250. It includes both front and rear cameras.

You might find installation guides or videos specifically for the 2022 Equinox that show how to handle the plastic panels. If you’re worried about damaging them, consider using plastic trim removal tools to avoid scratching or cracking the panels.

It’s great that you’re taking a careful approach to the installation. For the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, it might be helpful to look for specific forums or communities dedicated to Equinox owners.
