Issue with Impala: Engine Power Reduced, Service Traction Control, and Stabilitrak Problem

I bought a 2011 Impala 5-6 months ago. Recently, when starting, it hesitated (not a battery issue; new battery last month). The car rocked and made grinding noises. Dashboard shows “Service Stabilitrak,” “Service Traction Control,” and “Engine Power Reduced.” Check engine and traction control lights are on, but not ABS. Haven’t driven since. Any insights on the issue or fix?

Your Impala does not sound like it is operating smoothly. The recent shaking, grinding noises, and warning lights on the dashboard indicate a potential issue. There are several possible explanations. It could be a problem with the transmission, which functions similarly to a car’s gear shifter, or a defective sensor. To minimise more damage, the most crucial thing is not to drive the car any farther. The best course of action is to have a mechanic inspect it. They can troubleshoot the issue and get your Impala back on the road. If feasible, look for a mechanic with experience working on Chevrolets, particularly Impalas. They’ll be more knowledgeable with frequent problems and can get you back on the road faster.

Sounds like your 2011 Impala isn’t too happy. The hesitation, grinding, and warning lights (reduced power, stabilitrak, traction control) could mean transmission trouble or a funky sensor. There’s a chance it’s more serious. Don’t drive it. Get it towed to a mechanic to diagnose the problem before hitting the road again. Trusty mechanics are lifesavers

When my car had a similar problem, it turned out to be an electrical issue caused by a poorly spliced wire. I’d suggest driving slowly around your neighborhood to check for other symptoms like rough acceleration or strange noises. If you can, borrow an engine scanner from a friend or head to an AutoZone to get the engine code. Then you can Google how to fix it.
