I recently got a new Chevy Equinox and was told it had Bluetooth pairing. I was excited to listen to Google Music and podcasts directly, just like I did with my '99 Buick Century and an FM transmitter. However, it seems that’s not the case.
I’ve managed to get the calling feature to work, but I can’t set Bluetooth as an audio source, so all audio is still routed through the car stereo. Is there a way to enable Bluetooth audio? Maybe a software update or something else?
To enable Bluetooth audio on your Chevy Equinox, start by ensuring your phone is correctly paired and that Bluetooth audio is enabled in both your phone’s and the car’s settings. On the infotainment system, look for a source or media button and select “Bluetooth” or “Media” as the audio source. If this doesn’t work, check for any available software updates for your infotainment system, as updates can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. Refer to your owner’s manual for specific instructions, or visit your Chevy dealer for assistance if needed.
