LS3 vs LT1... which one is better for a weekend racer?

I’m currently debating between a 2010s LS3 M6 Corvette and a 2020s A10 LT1 Camaro. I can’t decide which would be a better platform for my weekend or ‘race car.’ I’m looking for input from those who’ve had or have both, have worked on both, or anyone who can share their thoughts on which would be the smarter choice. I’m interested not only in speed and power potential but also in future reliability and maintenance issues. I want to know the pros of each over the other if there are any, especially since both cars in low mileage forms in my area are the same price and well within my budget. Coming from a ~450whp Turbo V6 that didn’t make crazy torque and was more top-end power, I decided to get rid of it because the potential compared to an LS or LT simply isn’t there, neither is the aftermarket support. I plan to go for a heads and cam NA build aiming for around 500whp. My priorities for the car are: 1. Power potential and speed 2. Reliability 3. Interior and exterior looks 4. Transmission (though this matters very little to me as a true car enthusiast enjoys a fast car regardless of transmission) 5. Comfort (I already have a base Honda daily driver). Any input would be appreciated, or if this isn’t the right place to ask, any direction on where to find more info would be helpful.

You really need to drive both. The Corvette is basic with a dated interior, but it’s lighter, quicker, and a true sports car. It’ll always be better on the track and with mods, plus it has that classic muscle car feel. And a targa top? That’s pretty cool. The Camaro has an amazing transmission and a newer interior with better tech, making it a better daily driver. Just keep in mind the Camaro weighs like 6-700 pounds more. Personally, I’d rather have the Vette for a weekend car if I had a daily driver. But if you need a primary vehicle, the Camaro might be the way to go.

I’d personally go with the Camaro. It has a large crowd of fans behind it, which might be helpful for support down the line.

I’d choose the SS 1LE 6th-gen Camaro over a base C6 any day. The 6th-gen Camaro is one of the best driver’s cars for the money, even if you are looking to spend more.

Dang, that makes the choice much tougher. Both have their merits for sure.
