Malibu... to buy or not?

Hey folks, I’m considering buying a used 2017 Malibu LT. It’s kinda a beater car since it has a salvage title from a front-end collision. There are a few non-painted body panels and it’s got 125k miles on it. I managed to haggle the price down from $3,800 to $2,900. Do you think it’s worth it or should I pass?

If it’s just paint damage and nothing’s wrong with the frame, I’d say go for it!

Yeah, as long as the frame’s good, it could be a decent deal. What’s the mileage again?

It’s 125k miles. So, still some life left if the maintenance was good.

I’d check the repair history just to be safe. Salvage title can be a red flag sometimes.

Good point! Always better to know what you’re getting into.

Sounds like a pretty good deal if everything else checks out. Just make sure you test drive it first.

Totally! A test drive can tell you a lot about how it feels on the road.

Honestly, I think it sounds worth it at that price. Just make sure to get a mechanic to look it over.

Yeah, a little inspection can save you from future headaches, lol.

If you’re okay with it being a beater, then why not? Just don’t expect it to be perfect.

Exactly! Sometimes a fixer-upper can be more fun. Just keep your expectations realistic.
