My 2014 Malibu is having a problem where it dies at idle. There are no codes or check engine light, but when I start it in the morning, it either dies after about 1-2 minutes while warming up, or it dies at red lights after idling. This has happened a few times over the past few months, and it seems worse in winter. The local Chevy dealer had it for a week but couldn’t find the issue, although they found an old code for O2 sensors. Now it’s at another shop that hasn’t replicated the issue either. I think it might have to do with the auto-stop feature.
What engine do you have in there? I doubt the auto stop-start feature is causing this.
Not sure at the moment. The car is still with a shop right now.
How old is the battery? If it’s weak, that could mess with the auto-stop-start feature.

The battery was recently replaced. At one point, it died at a red light and wouldn’t start again because the battery was drained.
Could it be the alternator? If it’s failing, it won’t keep the battery charged properly.

According to both shops checking it, the alternator is fine.
