Need help with mods

I’ve got a 2019 Silverado and am looking for help with some aftermarket parts. I do light to medium offroading in mine and I’m looking for some aftermarket shocks and strut assemblies. I don’t want to change the factory ride height but I want something that can take more abuse. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Also forgot to mention, something a little softer too might be nice. I find my rear shocks make the rear end quite bouncy over rocks and high spots lol, makes it hard to steer.

Definitely check out Bilstein 5100 series shocks. They’re a great choice for offroading without changing your ride height. They can handle rough terrain better than stock shocks and give a smoother ride. Another option could be Fox 2.0s, though they might be a bit stiffer. Might want to look at adjustable ones so you can tune them.

@Wil
Fox shocks would be my top pick too. If you’re doing a lot of rocky trails, get something with external reservoirs. Keeps the shocks cooler, which means they’ll last longer and perform better.

Totally agree. External reservoirs make a world of difference if you’re hitting bumpy trails often. They’ll help absorb the abuse.

If you want something a little softer, maybe try Old Man Emu shocks. They’re popular with offroaders and have a bit more give compared to the stiffer brands. Not as sporty, but definitely comfortable.

@Tan
Seconding Old Man Emu. They’re underrated, but they’re designed for comfort on and off the trail. A bit pricier than some, but worth it if you’re looking for a smoother ride.

Check out brands like Bilstein or Fox for some solid shock options. They’ll give you a nice upgrade without cranking up the ride height. Your Silverado will handle the bumps like a champ!

Thanks! I’ve heard about Bilstein a lot, but I’ve never used them. Might have to give them a try.

@Corey
Definitely worth it! They’re tried and tested for a reason. Just make sure you get the right series for offroading, like the 5100s or 6112s.

If you’re willing to spend a bit more, King shocks are an excellent choice for offroad. They handle rough trails really well, but might be overkill if you’re just doing light to medium offroading.

King shocks are fantastic but they can be pretty stiff for regular driving. They’re definitely built to handle abuse though.

@Briar
Yeah, they’re not the softest, but they’re durable. If you’re going to be pushing your truck, they’re a good investment.

Don’t forget to consider getting some better tires if you’re upgrading the shocks. Even with great shocks, your tires play a huge role in how your truck handles offroad.

Good point, I’ve got some all-terrains on there now. Not planning to change them, but they’ve held up well.

@Corey
Sounds good! All-terrains should be perfect for what you’re describing. Just make sure they’re properly inflated when you hit the trails.
