I have a 1990 Chevy K1500 5.7 that needs a new Throttle Body unit. I investigated Oreillys and Advanced Auto, and their manufacturers do not have any. I’ve seen some on eBay, but I’m concerned about receiving a defective item.
Do you know where else I can purchase a throttle body? I don’t want to take one out of a junkyard if I can help it.

I couldn’t find any on Rockauto.com, only gaskets. Trying to get the whole unit.
Why don’t you want salvage yard one?
I guess it’s the cheapest route to go and can safe you time…
I simply intend to retain this truck for a long time and would like not to replace an old one with another old one that may fail in 6 months. Would prefer to take “good care of the truck” because the previous owner did not.
You could use the junkyard one while you order a rebuild kit for the failed one. Once you have rebuilt it, just put the junkyard one on a shelf for later. You can usually find replacement ones aftermarket, but why spend nearly a grand if you don’t have to? They don’t have many problems. You might also check local marketplaces for a replacement.
