Looking for some help finding instructions on installing OEM remote start for a 2015 Traverse. Bought the kit on eBay, but no instructions came with it besides the code for programming. It looks fairly easy—install new hood clamp and attach new wires provided. My question is, do the wires have to be soldered? The dealership wants to charge $500 for the job.
You need to let the dealer do it. For 2 reasons: 1. The dealer is where you’ll be able to get the correct install instructions. 2. You have to take it there anyway to get the programming done.
The kit should come with a hood switch and/or latch that must be plugged into the lamp harness that runs by the radiator. There should be a connector in the harness with a cap nearby. If the kit did not come with a new fob receiver, then the car will have to be trained for the new fobs. Not sure how they are equipping a 2015 kit. I installed a 2011 GM kit, and it came with a new receiver module that I swapped out.
