P0299 on my 2017 Chevy Cruze

Hello guys, I own a 2017 Chevy Cruze. I received a P0299 (Underboost) alert. I took it to a mechanic, who suggested it could be my waistcoat solenoid. He mentioned that it was recalled. Anyway, he tested the pressure and everything and said it was fine to boost, and I have never had any problems when driving. Also, the check engine light may go out on its own. So the mechanic suggested we try changing the wastegate solenoid, which he did a few days ago (along with some hoses), and the check engine light came back on with the same code.

Any recommendations for what might be causing my problem would be greatly appreciated.

Time for a new turbo

I had the same code on my 2016 Malibu, and it was a cracked piston. It could possibly be a leak anywhere along the high pressure intake, but it seems less likely if it’s holding boost.

Yeah It might be the turbo itself
