Recently, I have been getting a message on the info screen when I accelerate out of a stop. Coming out of a red light, the screen will read ‘traction control on,’ then I’ll click OK on the steering wheel, which brings up the next message reading ‘Park brake released,’ to which I click OK again before seeing the last message reading ‘Service park asst.’ This message only pops up in the mornings, but it does not appear coming out of every stop, so it is inconsistent. I don’t notice any sputtering or unusual sounds when I brake, although sometimes accelerating out of a stop causes the radio to go silent for a second, which is a secondary problem. I brought the car to my shop, and I was told it is a computer glitch. They reset it, but the message is popping up again. Has anyone experienced this, or does anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance!
It’s more likely there’s an intermittent issue somewhere between those modules or on the bus they all share. No real way to tell without at least knowing the codes that are set when the issue happens.
That sounds frustrating. Have you tried checking for any loose connections or wiring issues? Sometimes that can cause intermittent messages.
I had a similar problem with my Equinox. It turned out to be a faulty sensor that was throwing off the computer. Might be worth getting it checked out.
Good luck with it. Hopefully, it’s an easy fix. Keep us updated on what you find out!
