Remote Start Not Functioning on 2013 Chevy Cruze

I recently purchased a 2013 Chevy Cruze and discovered that it has remote start capabilities with the key fob. However, despite my attempts to use it, the remote start function isn’t working. I even replaced the key fob, but still no luck. Additionally, when I checked the car settings on the screen, I couldn’t find the remote start feature listed. How can I determine if the remote start module is actually installed in the car? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Two things:

After twice pressing the lock button, hold down the start button. In the event that it fails.

Your check engine light may be on. When the CEL is on, remote start will not function.

If none of them function, it’s possible that the remote start button was removed from the old fob and replaced with a new one, but the car is still missing that feature. Unlike other brands, GM does not require a separate module for remote start; therefore, if your remote lock and unlock functions properly, the module is not the issue.

Is it a factory remote start or an aftermarket?
