It burst into flames a week ago out of nowhere. The fire department couldn’t figure out what caused it. Luckily, gap insurance is going to help, but I still miss my car. I had just put new struts and a front end on it too.
The fire department said it was too destroyed to tell for sure, but I think Best Buy messed up my stereo install back in March. The fire seemed to start near the battery, so that’s my guess.
@Arlo
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Any idea what type of fuse holder they used?

Nope, unfortunately.

Dang.
@Arlo
Not gonna lie, this is kind of funny… glad nobody got hurt though!

Yeah, honestly, I’m probably better off without it. I’m looking at getting an Accord or Camry next. Not really into SUVs, and American cars have burned me too many times (no pun intended).
@Arlo
I’d go with the Accord if I were you, great choice.

I really want a V6, so I’ll probably have to wait and save up a bit.

Are V6 Accords and Camrys hard to find?
@Perry
Yeah, they didn’t sell as many and they’re pricier. I’m specifically looking for an 8th gen V6 Accord, so it’s gonna take some patience and savings.

That makes sense. I’d go for the V6, too. I like the 8th gen, but have you thought about waiting for the 10th gen to drop in price? I’ve seen some guys make them look super clean with some wheels and a slight drop. What are you thinking, coupe or sedan?
@Perry
Definitely a sedan. I love sedans. My Malibu had the 2.5L with about 200hp, so I’m hoping the V6 will feel like a nice upgrade. I’d probably keep everything OEM—just the factory spoiler, maybe some rain guards, and tint. Possibly upgrade the headlights, depending on what they come with.
@Arlo
You should take this post down and fight with Chevy to buy out your car because it burst into flames unexpectedly.

Chevy’s not going to give me money for a 10-year-old car with 141k miles and an aftermarket stereo.

Yeah, not happening. It’s a 10-year-old car with 141k miles and an aftermarket stereo.
@Arlo
Oh, I thought the gap insurance meant it was newer. Sorry about that.

Nah, it’s fine. I just had a pretty bad loan and lots of negative equity.

In that case, sounds like a bit of a happy accident then.
