What do you guys see when you think about Chevy compared to other brands like Ford, Audi, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes, etc.? My whole family owns Chevys, and my neighbor, who’s into cars and served in the military, said it’s a good thing I got a Chevy. It got me thinking about the cultural significance of Chevys, especially since they seem to represent a part of American identity. I’ve noticed all the memes about Chevy vs. Ford and how the bowtie logo even looks like a bowtie on a suit, which is kind of funny.
I’ve also had a cool moment when a C7 Corvette rolled up next to me at a red light, and the driver complimented my car. It was surprising considering the difference between my Malibu and a Corvette. What do you all think? Are Chevys truly the backbone of America, or is it just nostalgia?
I see Americana. Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet. Sure, it was marketing, but that’s how I see the bowtie. I’ve owned vehicles from all the big 3, and my GM cars have been the best and most reliable.
When I was growing up, my dad was a mechanic and hated anything that wasn’t GM. I’ve mostly driven Chevrolets, and I’ve had a Silverado with almost 300,000 miles on it when it was stolen. Best reliability for me.
