If I close the windows manually or use auto-close when fully open, they go back down at 1/3 of the way up. I have to do it little by little to close them. This is happening on my 2021 Tahoe RST and 2024 Silverado 1500 ZR2. Is this a common issue for Chevy?
Having the same issue on my 04 Chevy Tracker! No idea why.
Federal safety standards require power windows with auto-up to have pinch protection, which causes windows to roll back down if they encounter resistance (like a child or pet). The system detects resistance by measuring the current draw on the motor. A foreign object or an issue with the window regulator can trigger the same response. Could be a warranty issue if not expired.
You might need to reindex the window.
Try holding the window button down for 5 seconds after it reaches the bottom, then raise it all the way up and hold the switch for 5 seconds. That should reset the position.
