Wiper fluid stopped working... any tips?

I have a Traverse and the wiper fluid stopped working. The reservoir is full, but both the front and back stopped working at the same time. I can hear the motor working when I push the buttons, but nothing comes out. I’ve already cleaned the sprayer parts and they are not blocked. Any tips for what to try next?

They can spin and not pump a drop. Some tanks have a strainer, which has been common since the 90s. Stagnant fluid mixes can create a gel that clogs strainers. Check underneath for drips when active for a DIY leak or pump volume check.

@Remy
I didn’t think about the strainer. I’ll check for that next. Thanks!

You might also want to check the pump itself. Sometimes they can fail even if they sound like they’re working. A voltage test can help determine if it’s getting power.

Good call. I’ll check the pump too.

Make sure the lines aren’t frozen if you’re in a cold climate. Sometimes the fluid can freeze in the lines and stop the flow.

It’s been pretty cold lately, so that could be the issue. Thanks for the tip!
