My car stereo screen fell in on itself (it still works; I just haven’t gotten around to placing it back upright), and it got me thinking about switching it out for a better one since I’ve opened it up to put it back anyway. I want something that can play music through Bluetooth, preferably touchscreen, and if it had CarPlay support, that’d be awesome. Is it even possible to have a stereo like that in this car? I’m not very tech-savvy, so forgive my ignorance.
Yes, it’s possible to add an aftermarket stereo to your vehicle with the right equipment like a wiring harness and dash kit. I recommend checking out SonicElectronix for options. Doing it yourself isn’t too hard, but if you’ve never worked on a car, it might be better to leave it to a pro. You should find a stereo that meets your needs. A double din would look cleaner.
Oh, and it needs to be able to use the CD player, that’s a must.
Check out Crutchfield’s website; they have dash kits and cables to retain steering wheel controls. You can fit a double DIN touchscreen radio with CD/DVD easily, just depends on your budget.
Totally doable but not easy or cheap. Go to crutchfield dot com and enter your car info. You’ll need a PAC RP5-GM41 wiring interface too. Installing could take a day if you just want the stereo, but it’s a big job if you replace speakers as well.
Lots of Pick a Part and U Pull n Pay have those stereos in cars. Easy swap!
