So, I found this 2021 Chevy Spark with 44,000 miles for $7,000, and my dad needed a car, so we went for it. Apart from some minor body damage, it seems fine. We bought it from a small, family-run dealership, and the guys there looked pretty mad during the deal. Anyone else think this is a solid find?
That price does seem kinda sus, but maybe they had trouble selling because of the body damage. I’d have it checked at a Chevy dealership. I think the powertrain should still be under warranty till like 75k miles.
@LizCampbell
Yeah, my dad took it to Chevy today, and everything seems solid so far.

Nice, sounds like you scored! Sometimes deals like this do work out.

Feels like a win. I got a 2013 Fiesta for $3500, added some rims and new tires I got cheap, and now it’s probably worth over $6k. Hope I’m not using up all my luck!
Yeah, seems sketchy. I bought a Spark from Carmax with some hidden issues… let’s just say I paid way more than $7k.

Did you try using the warranty they gave you?

I checked, but it was expired just when I needed it.
Was it a CVT or a manual? If it’s a manual, it’s probably good, but I would be wary if it’s a CVT. Mine’s a 2016 and it’s done well, but I’m not sure how long the CVT will last.

It’s the CVT. But my dad’s scheduled a transmission flush, so hopefully it holds up.

I have heard of CVTs in Sparks going over 300k miles if you keep up with fluid changes. There are two filters, by the way—make sure to change both.
@LizCampbell
Didn’t know there were two filters. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, look up Chevy Spark CVT filters. There’s some solid guides online for DIY.
Price sounds too good to be true. But hey, if it drives well, go for it.

I know, right? That’s why I had to share. Hopefully it’s a proper steal!
With that mileage, mine would go for $9k easy. Be careful though.
Why were they mad if they’re the ones who set the price?
